An antique or vintage  bench for your piano is a beautiful piece of antique furniture that has sometimes been an heirloom passed down over the years. There are different types of antique benches that are popular they are rectangular benches, piano chairs and concert benches. There are many other styles and many attractive designs of these types. A rectangular one is made of wood and is about the standard height that a bench should be.

It does not adjust to other heights, so if you need it to be higher or lower in height you may have to choose another type  to suit your needs. It has a rectangular shape to it and is often made with a matching cover for the bench. A piano chair is a very uncommon type of  bench and less popular. This may be because most people that have used them find them uncomfortable to sit on. Another reason they are more uncommon is because they normally did not come with a piano when it was purchased and may have needed to be special ordered with the piano.

Another type was known as a concert bench. This one came with round knobs that were used to make adjustments to it in order to change the height of the bench. Most of these types  came with various styles and designs of upholstery on the seats which gave them a unique touch. All of these styles were all very beautiful and unique in their own way. If you would like to use one in your home, you do not have to own a piano to have an antique bench.  Some people use them as extra seating for the rooms in their home, in their foyer and in their hallway as a focal point. They even use them in their bedrooms as decorative seating and a place to sit on and take their shoes off.
